Supporting the green belt

What with the shock news that Thameslink operators Govia are to lose their franchaise*, and that a St Albans schoolgirl has become a Page 3 model, the fact that the general election is less than a month away had quite slipped my mind until Ian mentioned he'd had a Conservative flyer through the door.
Well, I'm one of those people who wants to know the people behind the parties, so I thought I'd find out about the candidates. There's Kerry Pollard, whose been MP in St Albans since 1997. When I went for lunch a couple of months ago with a friend who's a political columnist I managed to recall that he's Labour and supports hospitals and the green belt. His website, proudofstalbans.org.uk, is here . More depth at the BBC.
The Conservative candidate is Anne Main. Her official bio would appear to suggest that she lives in Beaconsfield. Well, it's a small town, like St Albans.
The local party site shows that she is against 24-hour drinking but supports the green belt.
The Liberal Democrats have put up Michael Green whom from the local party site I discover actually lives in St Albans and commutes to work on Thameslink every day. Oh, and he of course supports the green belt.
Just as well I support the green belt too or I'd be completely disenfranchised.

* "Currently Thameslink's operating performance is at an all-time high," said someone from the Association of Public Transport Users.

And Jack Cunningham, outgoing MP for Seascale, supported nuclear power because (would you beleive it) he had Sellafield (formerly Windscale (formerly Calder Hall)) in it.
